Tino Rangatiratanga Maori Flag

Drop into our new space at OUR PLACE for the 32nd Birthday of Tino Rangatiratanga Maori Flag, 9am - 4pm 22 October 2021

- - -

The Tino Rangatiratanga Māori Flag is a symbol of Māori Sovereignty and autonomy, uniting Māori in their stance to reclaim, restore and retain our Culture, Te Reo, Tikanga and Whenua. This Friday 22nd October marks the 32nd Anniversary of the physical manifestation of the original artwork. In honor of this symbol, and to celebrate what it stands for today, Te Tuhi Mareikura Trust is hosting an Open Day at our new office at Our Place. With the opening of a new youth hub and youth arts programme on the horizon, TMT is looking to activate the CBD with cultural arts for our rangatahi in Tauranga Moana.'

Join us in celebrating these new initiatives alongside the birthday of the Flag, for cake, activities, information, special Tino themes dishes by food vendors and Flag signings by Linda Munn from 1.30pm.
